2)Walk through the house and observe the lights. Notice the
different coverings that are used the shield the bright light
from your eyes. The covering also diffuses the light making the
light softer and causing it to disperse more evenly than just
a normal lighting situation.

1)You and a partner use a flashlight and go outside
in the darkness of the night. Take turns shining the light upon
different objects and observe which ones make clear or distinct
shadows. Find some that create shadows that are blurry.

3) Next use the flashlight again with a partner and create
shadows. This time try to make shadows as short or long as possible
by changing the position of the light. Of course your height
will have a lot to do with the variables.
4)Obtain different colors of cellophane wrap and cover the
lens of the flashlight. Observe the effect of shining different
colors upon objects either in a dark house or outside. Take note
of the difference when using colored light and white light.
See what colors are reflected to your sight. Record the information
so that you can share it in class.
