Winter is the of year when life slows. Some animals do not have to fight the weather since they hibernate. Others have to search hard for food during this harsh time of year.

This tree has provided food for a beaver for a few years. Each year during the winter beavers chew off some of the bark. Unfortunately as in this case this will eventually kill the tree because it cuts off the flow of sap to the rest of the tree.
