What is a numerator and denominator?

Remember that the numerator and the denominator make up the two parts of a fraction.

The numerator is the top number of a fraction.

The bottom number of a fraction is the denominator.

Just remember the denominator is down. Both the words denominator and down start with the letter 'D'. The word numerator and up both have the letter 'U' in them.
